Burgoyne's Campaign of 1777 ended in defeat at Saratoga, resulting in the French intervening in the American Revolution on behalf of the American Colonies.

Aaron Burr (1756–1836) was a U.S. Senator and Vice President of the United States under Thomas Jefferson. Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in an infamous duel in 1804.
